The OptiScaler community has modded AMD FSR 4.1.2 to run on Intel Arc XMX cores. Community testing shows the update matches native XeSS performance while delivering better image quality.
The OptiScaler community has modded AMD FSR 4.1.2 to run on Intel Arc GPUs using dedicated XMX hardware. Previous implementations relied on a fallback DP4a path that delivered lower performance. Modders achieved this by using modified FSR 4 INT8 DLLs optimized for Xe Matrix Extensions.
Testing by Reddit user DarkerThanLpDark on an Arc B580 running "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33" showed FSR 4.1.2 Lite logging an upscaling time of 0.59 ms. That matches native XeSS Super Resolution, which clocked 0.58 ms on the same hardware. Community testing notes the modded FSR implementation also delivers better image quality than Intel's native solution.
