TL;DR

RTX 5080 prices are rising at US and UK retailers. In the US, entry-level models are starting at $1,999.99, which is about $800 more than two months ago. High-end variants at Amazon have reached $2,500, while other models are listed above $2,300. These prices are roughly double the original $999 or $1,000 MSRP.
In the UK, a PNY RTX 5080 Triple Fan is priced at £1,439.99, up from £959.99 last year. Some models have increased by around £200 in the last few weeks. Meanwhile, RTX 5090 availability is low, with some units listed for nearly £7,000. This is well above the original £1,799.99 MSRP.
Reports say the price hikes are driven by GDDR7 supply concerns and retailer markups. Other reports suggest AI data center demand is creating a supply and demand imbalance. Memory shortages are also reportedly impacting RAM and SSD prices across the consumer electronics market.
