TL;DR

Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment detail Apex Legends: Cipher, a November 3 seasonal update featuring a battery-powered Crypto drone, dual-wielding revolvers, and high-risk Stronghold raids.

Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment say Apex Legends: Cipher launches on November 3 with reworked mechanics focused on intel gathering and combat. Crypto receives a firmware upgrade from his sister Mila, swapping his Surveillance Drone cooldown for a battery system that allows quick pickups and redeployments alongside a Sentry Mode that tags enemies on sight. His EMP Ultimate now deploys with a single button press.

Players also get access to the dual Akimbo Wingman for increased firepower and the new Stronghold mechanic. Strongholds replace Care Packages with high-tier loot, but opening them triggers an alarm revealing the exact location to nearby players while spawning cover and Hardlight to help defend the area.

Revenant and Lifeline receive kit adjustments. Revenant features a shorter Ultimate cooldown and quicker Tactical, with upgrades that extend his Ultimate on knocks and refresh his Shadow Pounce. Lifeline features a reduced D.O.C. cooldown, a revive shield, self-healing while gliding, and improved flight mobility. Additionally, Diamond and higher lobbies introduce a voting system where players can ban Legends each match.
