AMD says its fourth-quarter 2026 sales will hit about $17 billion, putting the company on pace to out-earn Intel's projected $15 billion to $16 billion range.
AMD expects fourth-quarter 2026 revenue to reach about $17 billion, with an estimate variance of 3%. Intel expects fourth-quarter revenue of $15 billion to $16 billion. If both companies hit the midpoint of their forecasts, AMD will bring in about $1.5 billion more than Intel for the quarter.
The projection follows AMD's third-quarter earnings report released on Tuesday, which brought in a record $13.377 billion, up 45% year over year. Diluted earnings per share rose 74% to $2.09. The Data Center segment drove the growth with a record $8.5 billion in revenue, up 97% year over year, fueled by demand for EPYC server processors and Instinct accelerators. The segment made up 64% of AMD's total revenue, compared with 47% a year earlier. AMD expects Data Center to account for more than 80% of its total revenue in 2027.
Not every part of the business grew. Combined revenue for AMD's Client and Gaming segment fell 8% year over year to $3.7 billion in the third quarter. AMD notes that whether this prediction signals a long-term change in sales leadership depends on how each firm's actual performance compares to expectations.
