An independent developer released Power Moon Recomp, an unofficial native PC port of Super Mario Odyssey. The developer says the game is fully playable from start to finish on Windows, Linux, and macOS. It supports resolutions up to 4K and a locked 60 FPS. The developer limits the frame rate to 60 because the game speed is tied to that value.

Reports say it leverages the Vulkan API and includes built-in AMD FSR 1 upscaling. The developer says users must provide their own backup copy of the game as the port contains no game data.
The software supports various controllers, keyboard, and mouse. It is compatible with emulator mods, including custom stages and high-resolution texture packs. The developer notes that shaders compile for a few seconds when a player first enters a new level. The macOS version is currently an early test version and may contain bugs.
