The Xbox Nano controller launched on November 4 for $49.99 and features Direct-to-Cloud technology that connects to Xbox Cloud Gaming servers via Wi-Fi to reduce input lag.
The Xbox Nano controller went on sale on November 4, 2026, for $49.99 in the U.S. The compact controller includes a built-in battery, a programmable Action Button, and support for both Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless.
Players noticed settings on the Xbox Cloud Gaming website suggesting the device can use Direct-to-Cloud technology. This feature lets the controller connect directly to Xbox Cloud Gaming servers over Wi-Fi using the Xbox mobile app to pair the device with Microsoft servers. Unlike standard Bluetooth connections that relay signals through a PC or TV, this method sends commands directly to the cloud to reduce input lag.
Microsoft has not launched the feature fully, and it is currently in testing, meaning availability and terms of use may change. While the technology will likely arrive in the coming weeks through Xbox preview programs, it is not available at launch. Reports say the Xbox Elite Series 3 may also receive direct cloud connectivity in the future.
