TL;DR

NTDEV demonstrated Windows 11 26H2 running in a virtual machine using 128 MB of RAM, which is 3.125% of the 4 GB minimum requirement from Microsoft.

NTDEV, the developer of Tiny11 Builder, demonstrated Windows 11 26H2 running in a virtual machine using only 128 MB of RAM. This amount of memory is 3.125% of the 4 GB minimum requirement listed by Microsoft. To achieve this, NTDEV disabled most background services and drivers.

The installation retained a desktop, the Start menu, File Explorer, and the ability to launch the classic Notepad app. While the virtual machine could perform limited multitasking, NTDEV says the operating system ran extremely slowly. The developer stated the demonstration was a technical experiment to test the limits of the OS rather than a practical way to run the software on older hardware.
