TL;DR

An engineering sample of the Medusa Point APU scored 3,100 in single-core and 18,313 in multi-core tests on Geekbench 7, featuring a hybrid 10-core configuration of Zen 6 and Zen 6c cores.

An engineering sample of AMD's Medusa Point APU appeared on Geekbench 7, revealing a hybrid 10-core, 20-thread configuration. Reports say the chip uses four Zen 6 cores and six Zen 6c cores. The monolithic APU features 1 MB of L2 cache per core for a total of 10 MB, and 16 MB of shared L3 cache. The instruction set includes AVX-512, AVX512-FP16, AVX512-VNNI, and AVX-VNNI.

The sample scored 3,100 points in single-core tests and 18,313 points in multi-core tests. This single-core score is higher than the 3,051 achieved by the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, though it is lower than the 3,131 scored by the Ryzen 7 9850X3D. The multi-core score trails the 27,412 average for the 16-core Ryzen AI Max+ 395.

Geekbench listed a maximum frequency of 1,996 MHz, but reports say this is likely a misreading of the early engineering silicon rather than the actual boost clock. Final retail performance should be higher once AMD finalizes frequencies and firmware. The test system used 64 GB of quad-channel DDR5 memory running at 5,188 MT/s.
