Path of Exile 2 · official art via IGDBNew gameplay centers on factions, fortresses, and sieges. The developers say these mechanics were inspired by Heroes of Might and Magic. Players choose from three factions with unique units and structures. They can upgrade their own fortress with over 20 buildings and upgrades. Combat involves hundreds of combatants. Players must position their squads during a setup phase before fighting on the front lines.
Completing the campaign unlocks a global faction war. Players can siege over 100 castles to access special maps and loot bonuses. Players can also hire up to three commanders to automatically explore and map the Atlas.
