TL;DR
Security researcher Sammy Hajhamid says a new software jailbreak for the Nintendo Switch 2 allows for homebrew and game mods. The exploit is tethered and requires a specific game or connection to run at every boot.
Security researcher Sammy Hajhamid, also known as pepsipu, says a software-based jailbreak for the Nintendo Switch 2 called ns2jb has been released. The exploit is compatible with firmware version 23.0.1. Hajhamid says the jailbreak enables arbitrary native code execution, which allows users to run homebrew applications, modify games, and back up save files.
The jailbreak is tethered, meaning it is not a permanent or standalone modification. Reports indicate that starting the console requires running a particular title each time. Hajhamid says it is not yet a complete or user-friendly solution. Fellow security researcher Gezine says the work seems legit.
