Intel Nova Lake-S 28-core CPU leaks with PassMark scores

By One Percent LowsUpdated

TL;DR

PassMark benchmark leaks suggest an Intel Core Ultra 9 4970K BFC with 28 cores could launch in Q1 2027.

PassMark benchmark entries for Intel Nova Lake-S processors have leaked through the PerformanceTest 11.1 database. The entries show a 28-core CPU, reportedly an Intel Core Ultra 9 4970K BFC, reaching a single-thread score of 5,210 points. This score is roughly 3% higher than the 5,059 score for a Core Ultra 9 285K and 8.4% higher than the Ryzen 9 9950X3D. In multithreaded testing, the 28-core chip scored 61,509 points. This is lower than the 67,274 score for the Core Ultra 9 285K and the 72,066 score for the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, but it beats the 58,074 score of the Core i9-14900KF.

The leaked 28-core entries showed a reported speed of roughly 3.3GHz with turbo speeds near 4.8GHz using approximately 16GB of RAM. An eight-core variant appeared in the database with a single-thread score up to 5,085 points and a multithreaded score of 23,478 points. A 24-core variant reached a single-thread score of 5,210 points.

These results come from unidentified pre-release samples and are not official benchmarks. Because the hardware or firmware may be unfinished, scores could change before launch. The leaked entries also showed a Memory Mark score of 2,523.4, which is about 25% lower than the 3,349.6 score associated with a Core Ultra 9 285K system. Reports say this gap may be due to the system rather than the processor alone. It is also not confirmed if the tested 28-core chip includes the large-cache BFC configuration.
