The Linux 7.4 kernel includes support for Intel IPU8, which is intended for Nova Lake laptops arriving next year.
Intel IPU8 support has been added to the Linux 7.4 mainline kernel. This enablement work is intended for Nova Lake laptops debuting next year. The Linux 7.4 media pull also adds support for Intel IPU7 and IPU7.5 (Panther Lake) to the existing IPU6 driver. While a separate IPU7 driver option was merged last year, this update integrates IPU7 and IPU7.5 support into the unified IPU6 driver. Other changes in the Linux 7.4 media pull include new sensor drivers, new Maxim hardware support, and a Rockchip RK3576 MIPI capture driver.
