TL;DR
The corporate parent has given Arkane Lyon an extra month to secure a buyer or partner.
Microsoft says it has extended the consultation period for Arkane Lyon by one month as the studio looks for a buyer or a partner to support the development of Marvel's Blade. The new deadline to find a new owner is December 13, 2026. This moves the previous cut-off date of November 13, 2026.
According to recent reports, the developer is considering various acquisition paths, while its ultimate outcome remains uncertain. If a buyer is not found, the studio faces closure. Under France's Florange Law, companies with more than 1,000 employees must search for a buyer if they plan to close a facility. Over 200 jobs are reportedly at risk if the studio fails to find a buyer. Representatives for the Printemps Ecologique labor organization, speaking on behalf of staff, note that the upcoming title is nearly finished.
