RTX 5070 Ti power consumption drops 52% via extreme undervolting
TL;DR
A Reddit user reportedly reduced an RTX 5070 Ti's power draw from 300W to 142.8W using extreme undervolting.
A Reddit user known as Most_Cicada3939 reported reducing the power consumption of an RTX 5070 Ti by 52% using a tool called mVolt+ Extreme. While the card has a factory total graphics power of 300W, the user's adjustments brought consumption down to 142.8W.
The process involved a -145mV core voltage adjustment to 0.67V and a +300MHz offset. Under these settings, the 16GB card maintained a core clock speed between 1,890MHz and 1,900MHz and 98% GPU usage in HWMonitor. To avoid system crashes, the user kept the memory at its factory speed of 17,501MHz.
Temperatures also decreased during the test. The GPU reached a maximum core temperature of 47.8°C, a hotspot temperature of 51.8°C, and memory temperatures of 56°C. The user did not include demanding synthetic benchmarks or extended performance tests to confirm long-term stability.
