An open alpha test for OPEN//77, a fan-made multiplayer mod for Cyberpunk 2077, begins on November 7 at 02:00. The developers say this is an unofficial project and CD Projekt RED is not involved. To participate, players must apply for alpha access through the official Discord, download a dedicated launcher, and select a server in the browser.
Cyberpunk 2077 · official art via IGDBThe mod functions similarly to GTA Online roleplay servers, where the community runs individual servers with unique rules, jobs, and economies. Developers say these servers will include factions, professions, racing, PvP, and free exploration. Features planned for the roleplay servers include a player-driven economy, car dealerships, flying cars, and VR support. Admins can also use the Lua scripting language to create custom game modes.
During a closed test in September, about 50 players were able to drive and fight together in Night City with synchronized vehicle and character animations, according to the developers. The mod only works on PC and requires a licensed copy of Cyberpunk 2077 version 2.5 with the Phantom Liberty expansion. The developers say pirated copies are unsupported and unwelcome.
