Nintendo is not currently considering another price increase for the Switch 2, president Shuntaro Furukawa said during a financial results briefing. The company previously raised the Switch 2 price from $450 to $500 in September due to rising memory costs. Furukawa said Nintendo has secured sufficient quantities of memory to maintain the current price point.
The announcement follows a period of declining financials. Nintendo reported a 37% drop in Switch 2 sales and a 16% fall in operating profits, which reached 73.9 billion yen (~$467 million) for the three months ending September 30. Reports say sales also fell 15% during that period. While Switch 2 sales declined, Nintendo said the console is still outselling the original Switch during its first year. Reports say Switch 2 sales are expected to slump 16.9% in its second year.
