Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa says Pokemon Winds and Waves is a crucial release for the Nintendo Switch 2 when it launches next year. Furukawa noted that his company plans to push sales as high as possible during the device's third year available to buyers. He mentioned that creature collection games always help drive new hardware uptake, noting that Pokemon Pokopia launched this March and heavily boosted system purchases. Furukawa stated he will withhold further details since the brand's commercial growth is managed by an associated firm using equity accounting.
