TL;DR

Nintendo reports Switch 2 lifetime sales of 26.35 million units and Switch lifetime sales of 157.20 million units as of September 30, 2026.

Nintendo has reached 26.35 million lifetime sales for the Switch 2, according to its fiscal year 2026 second quarter financial report. Total Switch lifetime sales have reached 157.20 million units.

During the six months ending September 30, 2026, Switch 2 shipments totaled 6.49 million units, a 37.4% drop compared to the same timeframe in the previous year. Nintendo says these hardware figures are reported on a sell-in basis, covering shipments to retailers and direct consumer sales. Original Switch shipments also fell 32.7% to 1.27 million units for the six-month period.

Software sales grew during the six months ending September 30. Switch 2 software sales reached 24.49 million units, up from 20.62 million, while original Switch software sales rose 6.8% to 65.73 million units. Digital software sales grew 60.5% to ¥249.6 billion, making up 60.7% of software sales. Nintendo says this growth was driven by increased digital purchases of physical titles and a weaker Japanese yen.

Nintendo reported an operating profit of ¥216.5 billion, a 49.1% increase, even as net sales declined 12.1% to ¥966.0 billion due to lower hardware shipments. Net profit rose 11.0% to ¥220.9 billion. The company maintains its full-year forecast to ship 16.50 million Switch 2 consoles and sell 60.00 million units of Switch 2 software. The company confirmed it will continue support for both the Switch and Switch 2.
