Former Rockstar technical director Obbe Vermeij says advances in AI might motivate Rockstar to shorten the gap between console and PC releases. Vermeij speculates that Rockstar could want to avoid losing sales to emulators or unofficial PC versions. He says someone could potentially use AI to change the PS5 version into a PC version. While Vermeij notes these AI versions would likely be inferior to the official product, he believes they could still impact sales. Rockstar has not shared any plans regarding the next version of GTA Online.
