Devran Cosmo Uenal has released a public build of PS5X, an experimental project that ports the open-source KytyPS5 emulator to Xbox Series X and Series S. Public builds are provided online, and the setup requires Xbox Developer Mode along with manual application deployment. Users must provide their own legally obtained game files.

The latest release, KytyPS5 for Xbox 1.1.26291.1739, includes 173 upstream changes and an updated Direct3D 12 renderer. This update addresses roughly fifteen extra problems that previously halted software execution, including 64-bit atomic operations, depth-to-color copies, and certain texture formats.

Uenal has demonstrated various titles using the project, including Quake II, GEX Trilogy, Hellboy: Web of Wyrd, Marvel Cosmic Invasion, and Astro's Playroom. In one demonstration, Quake II ran at roughly 25 to 45 FPS, though frame rates occasionally dropped below 20 FPS. While footage shows God of War III Remastered running on Xbox Series X, Uenal notes this uses a different implementation and does not confirm the software can run that specific game.

Reports say a version of the KytyPS5 port has also reached Xbox One, though demanding PS5 games are likely beyond the older console's practical capabilities.
