The number of new game pages created daily on Itch.io has doubled over the last two months, according to the platform. Itch.io hinted that generative AI is the reason for this increase, though it noted that purchases and downloads for these games have not doubled.

Ubisoft also plans to accelerate AI integration, stating it aims to use the technology for smarter NPCs and game worlds that react to player behavior in real time.
