Civilization 7 physical copies used to hack Nintendo Switch 2

Reports say users are using the physical version of Civilization 7 to jailbreak Nintendo Switch 2 systems. By using an unpatched exploit, people are running code through a connected USB device to mod games and run homebrew applications and programs. While running dumped titles is not currently possible, reports say progress on the exploit is moving quickly. The exploit does not work with code-in-box versions; it requires a true physical copy.

One consumer claims Amazon orders for the game are being cancelled due to a 2K mandate citing “technical and security-related requirements.” Reports say 2K is also supposedly recalling physical copies of the game from retail. Nintendo and 2K have not commented on the situation.
