DLSS 5 uses 3D-Guided Neural Rendering, which uses an AI model released last month to add lighting and material details to game scenes. Nvidia says the technology uses the game engine's rendered frame as a foundation so developers can control how the AI affects the image. While Nvidia previously showed DLSS 5 running on two GeForce RTX 5090 cards, the company says it can now run on one. Nvidia expects the technology to run on all 5000 series graphics cards over time.

On supported GeForce RTX 50 Series and RTX PRO Blackwell GPUs, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation can create as many as five extra frames for every single rendered frame.
