The Vulkan 1.4.368 spec update introduces two new extensions, including a vertex attribute update extension drafted by Valve's Mike Blumenkrantz.
The Vulkan 1.4.368 spec update is out, resolving six internal issues. This update includes two new extensions.
The VK_EXT_vertex_address_binding_unrestricted extension was drafted by Valve's Mike Blumenkrantz. This extension allows for vertex buffer data to be bound using vkCmdBindVertexBuffers3KHR to reduce memory when optimizing vertex attribute updates for draw commands that read only from an updated offset. Applying the extension turns off address validation for that scenario.
The second new extension is VK_NV_internal_handle. This NVIDIA extension lets game engines and applications fetch opaque internal driver handles for specific Vulkan objects. These handles can be passed to external APIs for use in NVIDIA-focused cases.
