TL;DR

Developer mamesj released Pokémon Fulldex, a project that runs nine DS and six GBA Pokémon titles in a single widescreen image on PC, mobile, and modded Nintendo Switch.

Developer mamesj has released Pokémon Fulldex, a project that runs nine mainline DS Pokémon titles and six GBA titles in a single widescreen image. The DS library includes Black and White, Black 2 and White 2, HeartGold and SoulSilver, Platinum, Diamond, and Pearl. The GBA selection contains Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen, and Ultra Violet.

The project is not a native port. It uses a built-in melonDS core for DS games and an mGBA core for GBA games. A layer on top of the core identifies the current screen or menu to rearrange the display into a 16:9 picture. mamesj says the project promises 60 fps. It supports Windows, Mac, Linux, Steam Deck, Android, iPhone, iPad, and modded Nintendo Switch. PC users can run the games at 4K, while the modded Nintendo Switch runs them at 720p.

Built-in features include save states, cheats, RetroAchievements, and custom backgrounds or colors. The project is open source under GPLv3, but users must provide their own legally obtained ROMs.
