Developer Supratim Sanyal of SANYALnet Labs released version 1.0.0 of a Game & Watch emulator for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K on November 6. The software provides cycle-accurate emulation of the Sharp SM510 microcontroller found in Nintendo's LCD handhelds. This allows the Spectrum to run original game programs while properly handling gameplay logic, device timing, display elements, audio, and standard operating modes.

The emulator supports 18 Nintendo titles across the Wide Screen, Multi Screen, and Super Color ranges. It also includes Munchy, an original LCD-style maze game with its own clock, alarm, sounds, and two difficulty modes. While Munchy and an included demo program run without external files, the 18 Nintendo games require compatible 4 KB ROMs from a user's own collection. The project includes a Python 3 utility to convert ROM images into the TZX tape files needed for the games. The software is available for non-commercial use.
