Intel Moon Lake 6W processors target laptops under $400
TL;DR
Intel is reportedly developing Moon Lake 6W processors featuring up to four Darkmont E-cores for sub-$400 laptops.
Intel is working on a new low-power processor series called Moon Lake. A leak claims the lineup will use the Intel 18A manufacturing node and feature up to four Darkmont E-cores and four threads on the BGA1516 platform. The processors are designed with a 6W power consumption target to compete with ARM-based devices in the entry-level market.
Target laptops will cost below $400 and feature between 8 GB and 16 GB of RAM. The low-performance chips are intended for basic tasks like web browsing, office applications, and media playback. They will serve as a cheaper alternative to Intel Wildcat processors, which include performance cores.
