Winhanced released its 1.0 Beta on October 31. The software functions as a gaming shell designed primarily for controllers on Windows 11 portable devices. The 30-day beta period includes an in-game overlay restricted exclusively to Patreon backers and Discord Supporter+ subscribers. Winhanced notes that the overlay will become available to everyone after the beta period concludes.
Players can open this overlay by pressing the Guide button alongside Start and Select, or by using Windows and Page Down. While the overlay is active, the game runs at 30 fps behind it until the overlay is closed. It includes pages for battery, performance, controller, power, and the current game. People can also activate various extras like web browsing, music, and friends lists.
Version 1.0 adds a Storage page to move, copy, or compress games per drive. It also integrates GeForce NOW, Battle.net game installation, and a Theatre service for Netflix and Disney+. OptiScaler is included to bring DLSS, FSR, or XeSS support to compatible titles, though the developers state that anti-cheat protected games are left untouched. On compatible AMD devices, a toggle enables FSR 4.1 over FSR 3.1, extending support to Radeon graphics cards that lack official compatibility.
Background In October, the OptiScaler community modded AMD FSR 4.1.2 to run on Intel Arc GPUs using dedicated XMX hardware. Our earlier story
